Some scheduled clinics require a minimum number of enrolled participants to run. If registration is too low for your clinic to run, you will be offered the following options: participate in a clinic on a different day, pay the difference for the clinic on your scheduled day (as per private guiding rates), or receive a 100% refund.
Trip cancellation insurance is recommended.
Weather
Weather can be unpredictable year-round, and thus it is impractical to issue refunds in the event of poor weather. Often the weather can prove to be fairer than the forecast predicts, and the rock in Squamish can dry quickly, offering favourable climbing conditions even after heavy rains. Guides may choose to change objectives or locations based on weather conditions.
Clinics & Singlepitch: Will run in the event of wet weather, as many sheltered venues in the Sea to Sky corridor work well for learning/ practising skills and single pitch climbing.
Multipitch: Your guide will keep a keen eye on the local forecasts and contact you the day before the scheduled climb to discuss options, including postponement. In the case of weather that does not allow for the multipitch objective to be met, you will be offered either to receive a half day of private instruction or single-pitch climbing in locations that stay dry (and a refund for the difference in cost), or a 50% refund.
Postponements and pre-paid days must be used within the calendar year that they are booked.
Waiver
Before departure on any trips, all participants must read, understand and sign our Waiver and Release of Liability form.
An identical waiver will be presented, discussed and signed before departure. The waiver discusses some, but not all, hazards that could be encountered on our trips. Even after signing the waiver, guests of Kinley Aitken Guiding are not committed to joining the trip, and reasonable accommodations will be made to refund part or all of the fees paid.
IMPORTANT – WAIVER REQUIRED: A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement ("Waiver") must be completed by each participant (or parent/legal guardian for a minor participant) before participation in guided climbing activities.
If the Waiver is not completed, participation in the activity will not be permitted.
If you are booking for other participants, it is your obligation as the guest to inform them of this Waiver requirement and provide them with the link to the Waiver below.
Each adult participant must complete their own Waiver.
A parent/legal guardian must complete the Waiver for their minor participant.
